Ephesus

Saving the best for last: Ephesus was the last stop on our 'Seven Churches tour' in Turkey. It was incredible to see how much of the ancient city has been preserved and to visit a place so prominent in the New Testament. The Apostle Paul and John both spent significant amounts of time in this city. The theatre behind me has a seating capacity of over 80,000. Gladiator matches in Ephesus were held here and Paul preached here on various occasions. It was here that he was nearly stoned to death for preaching the Gospel.
