Here is Hagia Sofya lit up at night (see below for description). You can see the minarets from when it became a mosque, but the building was a church (6c.-12c. AD). The Ottomans tried to build the Blue Mosque taller than Hagia Sofya, but they failed by a couple metres. Posted by Picasa
