What a perfect Christmas vacation: 3 weeks in southern India, hanging out with old friends from university, staying with an Indian family and taking part in a wedding! This photo was taken just before the engagement ceremony, where families traditionally exchange items and present the girls dowry to her husband's family. This engagement was not so formal. The two families met, ate together, sang, prayed and had a minister bless them. Jo, Stacey and I got all decked out in our new Indian outfits and played hostess/photographer for the event. So much fun!
