My Summer in Europe

I spent 5 amazing weeks this summer visiting Italy, Salzburg, Flanders, southern Germany and northern France! It has taken me forever to post anything, so I am just putting up random photos and stories. Enjoy.

It was so nice being back in Germany, after a 3 year absence. This is my favourite German pastry shop and I discovered the yummiest rhubarb pastry:) Carolyn was experimenting with her new camera, which allows her to take black and white photos and isolate one colour. Very creative.

Although highlight of the trip were all the hearty meals in Germany and Austria.....yum:)

Nathan's first trip to Europe started with a beautiful day in the Austrian Alps! It was almost 35 degrees outside, but the mountain top had patches of snow still. It was an incredible view. The hills were definitely alive with the sound of music....but it was me singing, not Julie Andrews:)

Coming from Adeleide, Australia, Carolyn had never played in snow before, so Nate and I showed her how to make a snowman, which was so cute. It's amazing how cold snow still feels even at 35 degrees.

Our return visit to Austria (after spending 10 days in Italy) was spent in the Alps again, but it was COLD and overcast. After 2 weeks of 30+ weather 13 degrees felt bone chilling.
