What makes Salzburg famous

1. Mozart: The hometown of Wolfgang Amedeus Mozart has done everything they can to market his name. This shop sells the famous Mozart Kugeln, which are yummy chocolate balls.


2. The Alps: Carolyn and I took a tour of ice caves just outside of Salzburg. It was below zero inside the caves, but 35 degrees outside. Here is the best view of the Alps that we saw. Stunning scenery!


3. The Sound of Music: Salzburg was home to the Von Trapp family and the setting of the famous Hollywood musical. We took the official SoM tour, which was a bit over the top, but interesting to hear how different the real story was from the movie....big surprise! For all you SoM fans, this is the gazebo where they sing "I am 16 going on 17" :)
